Goals and Objectives
To provide fresh and
nutritious groceries to improve the nutritional status of the
disadvantaged poor, as well as, assess their need for future programs.
The Mission's
objectives are to improve the nutritional status of needy clients. The
Mission Outreach Programs available provide nutritious food.
Providing information about other resources available from
other resources within the greater community helps to supplement
client needs.
The Mission's goals
are to provide grocery orders monthly to registered households and to
provide perishable staples such as bread and potatoes daily outside
and to schedule a weekly food distribution giving food away by the
case. By providing a sufficient amount of quality food enables
recipients to improve their nutritional status.
Target Population
The Mission's programs
serve Families, Children, Disabled and Senior adults.
Infants, small children, teens, senior adults, families and the
disabled who are not able to pay for sufficient food supplies due to
limited cash flow because of the increased cost of living and housing
experience hunger. Many families are unemployed or more
frequently underemployed. Many families consist of single heads
of household with only one source of income that is below the federal
poverty level. Others are adult seniors who live alone and
receive Social Security benefits that do not cover their cost of
living because of high prescription and housing costs. Families
who need food are caught short of cash to pay for it.
